Pantry Quick Red Sauce

Pantry Nomato

Makes a delicious and easy pain-free substitute for Marinara tomato sauce.

Equipment

  • blender
  • sauce pan
  • stovetop burner

Ingredients
  

  • 1 15 oz can of pears with juice. drained
  • 1 15 oz can yams drained
  • 1 15 oz can carrots drained
  • 1 15 oz can red beets with juice
  • 1 15 oz can pumpkin puree NOT pie filling!
  • 2 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 1/2 tsp tamarind paste
  • 1 tsp grated horseradish
  • 1 tsp minced lemon grass
  • 1 tsp minced fennel bulb
  • 1/2 tsp truffle zest
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp annato powder
  • 1 tsp capers and juice blended

Instructions
 

  • Put everything in a blender and blend until smooth!
  • Pour into a pot on low and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
  • Freeze in plastic baggies laid flat. When you want to use it, just thaw it in the fridge.
