Irish coffee (Irish: caife Gaelach) is a cocktail consisting of hot coffee, Irish whiskey, and sugar (some recipes specify that brown sugar should be used), stirred, and topped with thick cream. The coffee is drunk through the cream.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz Irish whiskey
1 oz natural raw cane sugar
Hot brewed coffee
Unsweetened heavy cream
Directions:
Add the whiskey and sugar to an Irish Coffee glass and fill two-thirds of the way with coffee.
Top with one inch of cream.
Serve immediately. (Preferably with some crisp ginger cookies.)
